River of Guidance
River of Guidance is a program offering short online experiential courses, to further deepen into the heart of our lineage wisdom and practice. The River of Guidance flowing through our silsila inspires us to look afresh at how we apply perennial wisdom to our life conditions and how we manifest our realization in service to the world we are part of.
~ This program is being offered in English & German languages ~We invite you to join us for a special opportunity to experience Khilvat—a time of retreat—from the comfort of your own home.
Quieting the mind, cultivating concentration, finding deep inner stillness and learning to love life's mystery are among the many delights of a retreat. One has the opportunity to observe one's self with a minimum of stimulus from the outer world. Our inner world then becomes a source of observation and transformation.
Retreatants will gather twice each day via Zoom for one-hour sessions. These meetings will include guided practices and inspiration to support your inner journey throughout the day, even as you continue to mindfully engage with your natural rhythms and balance your responsibilities of daily life.
Each day will also include small breakout groups, offering space to share reflections and experiences in a spirit of companionship and mutual support. As Murshid Sam said "A retreat is really an advance." We look forward to cultivating this inner spaciousness with you.

Finding the Quiet Heart Within
About Our Retreat Guides
Saladin Pelfrey
Murshid Saladin took his first retreat in the fall of 1972 and was 'hooked'. In 2008 he spent 40 days in isolation in the mountains of north Idaho on retreat. In the fall of 1976 he was introduced to the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel Lewis. This was the beginning of a life long journey following the way of the heart. Saladin has been blessed by experiencing many wonderful teachers both within the Ruhaniat order and in other orders and traditions. Pir Moineddin was his primary guide and still one of the great influences in his life. Saladin has been the post for the khilvat concentration for many years and is a Murshid in the esoteric school.
Rahimah Sweeney
Murshida Rahimah is enthusiastic about annual solitary Khilvat in a natural setting. She finds that it is a time to refresh the soul and practices. She has felt the support of the teachers within the Ruhaniat and beyond through their guidance. She and her husband, Arif, also do couple’s retreats to prepare for presenting Shared Presence workshops and generally refresh their relationship and shared practice through retreat. She finds that Khilvat can happen in a day when an opportunity arrives to dedicate turning inward and listening.
Nur Mariam Simmons
Nur Mariam’s motivation to offer Khilvat arises from the profound gifts she has received over more than 30 years of meeting the Divine in stillness and solitude. As a Ruhaniat and Khilvat Guide, Cherag, and Spiritual Director, she invites you to discover the blessings that await in the stillness of your own heart.
Jelaluddin Hauke Sturm
Murshid Jelaluddin lives in Berlin, Germany. He works as a psychotherapist and book designer. He leads spiritual and therapeutical retreats, the Dances of Universal Peace and Mantra singing, often together with his wife Baraka. Understanding one's self more and more and following the path of the heart is a main focus.
